What do you wear under a graduation gown?
I’m graduating on May 16th, and I’m not sure what is appropriate to wear under my gown. I’m homeschooled, so there isn’t a school handing out a dress code, nor are there other students that I need to mimic (save for our 30-40 guests, but I’m the only one graduating). My cap and gown are red and my tassel, honor chord and stole are gold. I heard a white dress is customary, but I don’t have a white dress. Any suggestions?
The graduation is a combined ceremony/party, and our guests will be dressed casually, if that makes a difference.
Usually a nice dress and dress shoes are all that’s expected. Most public schools that I know don’t require a *white* dress, neither do most colleges.
